Thieves take aim at former Inspired Homes customers, man spotted removing bathtub from Kensington site

After years of waiting around with half-built houses, a number of customers of troubled builder Inspired Homes have this week become victims of theft.
Bathtubs, tiles and other supplies have gone missing, with police now investigating.
Men were seen removing a tub from a Kensington site on Friday, despite being prohibited from stepping foot onsite.
Former Inspired Homes customer Lauren Edmands said it was “just another stab in the gut” to have items stolen from her building site.
Her partner Graeme Edmands said they’ve almost hit the five-year mark of when they signed on to build their dream home.
“We’re almost up to five years now, it was August 2020 we signed up,” he said.
The Edmands are not alone, with chipboard disappearing from another deserted building site in Piara Waters.

“Someone said they had some wall tiles taken, someone else had some scaffolding taken at one point,” Mr Edmands said.
These properties were half-built by Inspired Homes.
The troubled builder finally entered voluntary administration earlier this month, with 87 unfinished properties and close to $10 million owed to creditors.
Golden Group, developer of $4 billion housing project Burswood Point, claims it’s owed the most.
Documents from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission reveal the group wants $3m back.
Inspired Homes boss Vasko Spaseski claims he’s owed $800,000. They’re all double investments, of which his wife Danielle is the sole director and secretary claiming a similar amount.
Two more companies owned by Mrs Spaseski are registered for another $250,000.
As administrators progress, deserted customers will need to find other builders to finish their homes.
“We need the bath in place, it needs to be bricked in first, before we can actually start with getting the tiles to wet areas completed, which is the next part of the works. So, we’re just at a standstill until that happens,” Ms Edmands said.
Police are probing the theft, collecting fingerprints at the scene earlier this week.
The Edmands believe they know who one of the men is, and they think he is wearing an Inspired Homes uniform.
When 7NEWS contacted him, he said it was a case of mistaken identity.
