AACTAs 2024: Aussie stars bring their best looks to the Gold Coast red carpet

Australian sweetheart Margot Robbie has captured the hearts of Aussies nationwide as she dazzled on the 2024 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards red carpet, picking up a prestigious award in the process.
The AACTAs, held on Saturday on the Gold Coast, saw the 33-year-old Barbie star grace the red carpet in a sparkling, figure-hugging dress reminiscent of Old Hollywood glamour.
Robbie — who grew up on the Gold Coast — later accepted the prestigious AACTA Trailblazer Award in recognition of what the Australian Academy said was her “versatile talent and captivating performances”.

Robbie said she was “truly honoured” to accept the award — “especially in my home town on the Gold Coast”.
“Australia has always been my grounding force, and to receive this recognition here is incredibly special,” she said.
Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett is nominated for Best Lead Actress for The New Boy, which tells the story of a nine-year-old Aboriginal orphan (Aswan Reid) who arrives at a remote monastery run by a renegade nun (Blanchett).
Blanchett, 54, opted for a simple but elegant black and gold jumpsuit on the red carpet, adding a touch of drama in the form of a gold puffed sleeved.

Rebel Wilson, comedic actress and co-host of the awards alongside Harry Connick Jr, opted for an all-black gown with a feathered skirt that flowed from her waist to the floor.

Rising star Chloé Hayden, who played Quinnie in the Australian Netflix reboot of Heartbreak High in 2022, wore a purple floral dress adorned with black bows at the arms and matched with large flower earrings.
