Gregory Porter: Grammy-award winning artist announced as headline act for Perth International Jazz Festival

In exciting news for music lovers, international jazz sensation and two-time Grammy Award-winning vocalist Gregory Porter has announced he is coming to Perth. The 53-year-old will make his long-awaited Perth debut at the 2025 Perth International Jazz Festival in October. The singer — who is known for his smooth voice and songs that blend jazz, soul, gospel and pop — will give Perth audiences the rare opportunity to experience his magic live. Perth International Jazz Festival director Mace Francis says getting Porter to headline the event marks a defining moment for the festival and for the city. “Gregory Porter is one of the biggest names in jazz in the world right now,” said Francis “It puts Perth International Jazz Festival on the map as a significant cultural event — not just in Western Australia, but across the country.” The festival will activate new spaces across the city — from intimate bars to large-scale outdoor venues — showcasing the incredible diversity and innovation within the jazz genre. Porter has won two Grammy awards during his career, one for his 2013 album Liquid Spirit and another for his 2016 album Take Me to the Alley. Gregory Porter will be performing on Saturday 25th October at the Regal Theatre in Perth. Tickets are on sale at 5pm Tuesday 8 April 2025.
