Former Perth radio host turned singer Em Rusciano announces Outgrown Aussie tour
Former Perth radio presenter turned powerhouse performer Em Rusciano will embark on her first huge national tour in five years and is ready to entertain with a “multi-sensory” musical comedy extravaganza.
The 45-year-old is back with a brand-new live experience called Outgrown which is her first 15-date national tour since her successful Rage and Rainbows show in 2019.
Rusciano, who hosted 92.9’s breakfast show for four years in the early 2000s, will start her tour in Toowoomba before travelling across the country to perform in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Wollongong, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Bunbury, Ballarat, Newcastle, Canberra, Albury, Launceston, Hobart and Melbourne.
She will play at Perth Concert Hall on July 26 before road-tripping down to Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre for a show on July 28.
Rusciano said the last five years of her life have been “brutal, beautiful and bonkers” and included a trifecta diagnosis of ADHD, autism and early menopause.
“They challenged everything I ever believed about myself to my core. Not to be dramatic, but the term ‘complete ego death’ wouldn’t be out of place here. I’m finally limping out the other side of it now with way less oestrogen and as a newly crowned neuro-divergent double threat. So naturally it felt like the right time to get myself back on stage,” she said.
Rusciano said her fans could expect a “multi-sensory exploration and examination of the beauty that can emerge after everything has been burned to the ground”.
“And of course elaborate costumes, novelty-sized props and me workshopping my trauma via an over-the-top all-out musical comedy extravaganza,” she said.
Throughout her creative career, the mother of three has dabbled in writing, singing, comedy stand-up and podcasting.
Her podcast Emsolation was picked up as Australia’s first ever Spotify exclusive and came second in the Australian Podcast awards in the People’s Choice category.
Rusciano’s best-selling first book Try Hard: Tales from the Life of a Needy Overachiever went to the top of the iBook charts before it was even released.
The lady of many talents is a popular advocate for ADHD and autism with a Facebook following of more than 280,000 fans and 240,000 on Instagram, she has a weekly social media reach of up to 10 million.
Frontier Touring member presale commences on Friday from 12pm local time before the general sale kicking off Tuesday, April 23 from 10am local time.
