‘Mystery’ million-dollar lottery winner has two weeks to come forward

An urgent plea has been made to a mystery millionaire who has less than two weeks to claim their lottery winnings almost a year after the fateful draw.

Lottery officials said the resident or visitor of Mawson Lakes in Adelaide had only a fortnight left to claim their $1m winning X Lotto draw prize.

The unknown person holds one of two division one winning entries from the Monday and Wednesday Lotto draw from September 27, 2023.

The Lott spokesperson Khat McIntyre said time was ticking for the mystery player to come forward to claim their million-dollar prize.

“It’s likely our mystery winner has been going about their year as normal with no idea they became an overnight millionaire almost a year ago,” she said.

“Can you imagine if you’ve been unknowingly holding the golden ticket worth $1m for an entire year?

“Make sure you check your wallets, handbags, car glovebox or anywhere you may have an old ticket.

“The winner could be you and you could be planning what to do with your prize.”

The winning ticket was purchased at BP Mawson Lakes on the Salisbury Highway at Mawson Lakes, according to The Lott.

In South Australia, lottery prizes must be collected within 12 months of the draw – once that has passed, the unclaimed money is forfeited to the Lotteries Commission.

The Lott said the entry was unregistered, meaning officials have no way to contact the winner and “must wait for them to come forward and claim their prize”.
