Graham Norton His celebrity talk show is a fan favourite and now the Irish comedian, actor and author is embarking on his first live tour of Australia, including a stop in Perth. Norton, a nine-time BAFTA TV award winner, will host An Evening With Graham Norton to share highlights and memories, as well as behind-the-scenes stories from his sofa chats with the world’s biggest stars. Fanning Dempsey National Park This all-star project brings together two beloved singer-songwriters — Powderfinger’s Bernard Fanning and Something For Kate’s Paul Dempsey — for a new album, The Deluge, and a national tour that will hit Perth at the end of the month. The shows, with Merpire in support and many of which have sold out, will see the duo play songs from their collaboration, which was recorded across Norway, San Francisco and Byron Bay. Festival This otherworldly creature is The Guardian, a 10m mythical being with glowing crystal shards that will wander through the OMG! Festival next month. Get In The Grove will be on November 8 and 9 with live music, food trucks, The Guardian and LED acrobats, stilt-walkers and giant flamingo puppets. On November 16, the Wellard Street Festival will take over The Strand in Wellard Square with interactive light displays, performances from Ricochet Circus, vibrant market stalls, food trucks and a silent disco. Julia Gutman She was the youngest Archibald Prize winner in 85 years and now Sydney-based artist Julia Gutman has unveiled her largest artwork yet for a new exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. Opening on October 25 at a special event with Australian singer Montaigne (who was the subject of Gutman’s Archibald-winning portrait), the exhibition includes the 12m by 3m woven Jacquard tapestry titled Life In The Third Person.
