Gregory Ross Williams and Corina Marie Jones charged with eight offences in Albany car theft and police chase

Albany police have charged two people for their alleged roles in an aggravated robbery and home burglary, accusing them of leading police on a chase through Albany in a stolen car. Albany officer-in charge Sen. Sgt. Carlos Correia said police have charged Gregory Ross Williams and Corina Marie Jones with a combined eight offences. The pair were arrested on Lockyer Avenue in Lockyer on Tuesday after they abandoned the white Ford Falcon they had allegedly stolen from a Rowley Street property earlier that morning, police say. Mr Williams was charged with armed robbery, aggravated home burglary, no authority to drive (suspended), stealing a motor vehicle, driving recklessly and recklessly driving to escape pursuit. The 46-year-old will appear in Albany Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 16. Ms Jones, 40, was charged with receiving stolen property and stealing a motor vehicle and will appear in Albany Magistrates Court on May 1. Sen. Sgt. Correia praised police efforts in apprehending the alleged offenders after they allegedly lead police on a reckless chase against traffic through Albany’s busiest roundabout. “It was very good work capturing them by our team,” he said. “They made sure they did it as safely as they could and completed the job without issue, injury or damage.”
