Katanning’s Shai Bolton and Albany’s Jordan Clark in Dockers derby win, Albany’s Jacob Blight in best players

Katanning-born Shai Bolton has tasted his first victory in Fremantle colours, as the Dockers produced a powerful display on Sunday to claim the western derby over West Coast.
Bolton was traded back home to WA last year after 135 games and two premierships with Richmond.
The 26-year-old did not play for the Dockers in round one due to injury but made his debut for the club in the narrow loss to Sydney last week.

Bolton was lively in the 38-point derby win at Optus Stadium, collecting 21 disposals, three marks and five inside-50s while also having 327m gained.
He will have to wait a little longer for his first goal in purple, missing two shots during the Dockers first win of 2025.
Albany-raised Jordan Clark played his role across half-back for the Dockers who held the Eagles to just four goals in the opening half.

Clark had 498m gained, bettered only by midfield star Andrew Brayshaw and Glendinning-Allan medallist Caleb Serong.
The Railways product finished with 18 touches, six marks and four tackles.
On the other side of the ledger, Pingaring’s Liam Baker was one of the Eagles best players in their third loss of the year.
Baker, who played juniors for Lake Grace-Pingrup, was busy throughout the afternoon in gathering 23 possessions, three marks and three clearances to go with 319m gained.
North Albany star Jeremy McGovern had been superb for the Eagles before going off with injury.
McGovern, a five-time All-Australian, had been terrific in the air with a game-high six intercepts before hobbling off with a groin injury late in the third term.

Earlier in the third term McGovern had come off to have a bandage over blood from a head knock.
McGovern had 15 disposals, nine marks and 249m gained before his injury, that is likely to keep him sidelined for multiple weeks.
Albany’s Jacob Blight was one of Richmond’s best players in their heavy 82-point loss to St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.
Blight, who was picked up by the Tigers in the mid-season draft last year, was used in a couple of different roles including the ruck.
The Railways junior had a game-high 12 marks to go with 18 touches and seven hit-outs.
Mt Barker’s Arthur Jones was dropped by the Western Bulldogs for their round three clash with Carlton at Marvel Stadium on Friday.

Brookton-Pingelly’s Tim English amassed 34 hit-outs, four score involvements and six marks in the eight-point win.
On Thursday night, Royals forward Tom Edwards was substituted out of Essendon’s 12-point win over Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium.
Edwards enjoyed a fantastic debut the week prior, kicking three goals, but he subbed out for Saad El-Hawli in the fourth term after kicking one behind from six possessions.
