Locklan Stuart Ross: Teenager accused of raping woman twice and causing criminal damage appears in court

An Albany teenager who allegedly raped a woman twice has appeared in court for the first time. Locklan Stuart Ross appeared in police custody at the Albany Magistrates Court on Monday charged with two counts of sexual penetration without consent, and one count of criminal damage. It’s claimed the 19-year-old, who represented himself in court and did not apply for bail, committed the offences against a woman in Centennial Park on Sunday, February 2. Police prosecutor Sgt Gary Simpson indicated he would oppose bail for the teenager, who is already on bail for an unlawful wounding charge in November 2023 and due to face trial on March 23. Sgt Simpson said Mr Ross posed a flight risk as he had fled to the Eastern States in 2024 when on bail for driving offences, and only returned two months later after a warrant was issued for his arrest. Mr Ross will next appear in Albany Magistrates Court on February 27 for a bail application.
