Two people charged over assault on father Zachary Hepping in Northbridge’s Prince Lane granted bail

Two people charged over the bashing of a young father in Northbridge have been granted bail. Zachary Hepping was outside a nightclub on Murray Street when he was allegedly attacked in Prince Lane, suffering fractures to his nose, eye socket and jaw around 2.45am on Sunday. Mr Hepping said he was allegedly set upon after being in the city for just “10 minutes”. “I was walking past, I bumped shoulders with someone, he asked what was going on and then from there, yeah, it all just started,” he told 9NEWS. Lyall Daniel-Louis Pausila Ash Faulalo, 27, was arrested on Sunday afternoon and charged with grievous bodily harm. The Bentley resident faced Perth Magistrates Court on Monday where he was granted bail with conditions, a $5000 personal undertaking and a $5000 surety. On Monday afternoon, police revealed they had also charged Brayden Sean Hoki Samuels, 25, with grievous bodily harm. Mr Samuels also faced Perth Magistrates Court on Monday where he was granted bail with conditions and a $5000 personal undertaking. Both men did not enter a plea. Mr Faulalo and Mr Samuels will face court again on December 9 and 23, respectively, for legal advice. “It will be alleged that during the incident, a 25-year-old man was punched several times by the accused causing him to fall to the ground where he was further assaulted,” a police spokeswoman said. “Police arrived and stopped the altercation, further calling for an ambulance for the 25-year-old victim.” “The 25-year-old victim left before the ambulance arrived, conveying himself to the Royal Perth Hospital later that morning.” Mr Hepping’s mother Melissa Ramakkattiyama told Nine that she feared her son could have been killed. “This is just horrible,” she said. “People can’t go out and just enjoy themselves now. “It comes to this. Shattered face, a broken jaw, broken nose, broken eye socket. Is this what we’ve come to?” Mr Hepping claimed he was allegedly attacked by up to 10 people. “The police waited for 40 minutes and just stood there and watched me basically,” he claimed.
