Police investigate after baby’s death
Police are investigating after it is understood a nine-month-old baby died after being taken to Hedland Health Campus with injuries last week.
It is understood the baby was flown to Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth with the Royal Flying Doctor Service on Thursday and was later pronounced dead.
Police would not comment further on the incident, other than to say that further inquiries may be conducted pending the results of a post mortem.
Major Crime officers are now investigating. Police confirmed no arrests had been made.
A spokesman for WA Country Health Service confirmed a child presented to the Hedland hospital and was flown to Princess Margaret Hospital.
