WA police call on public for help to find information on the suspicious 2021 O’Connor fire
Arson squad officers have released CCTV footage of a person who may be able to help with the 2021 O’Connor furniture store fire investigation.
WA Police said the fire was believed to have started in a bin near the back of the South Street store before spreading into the building.
In a statement on Sunday, police showed CCTV footage of a person they believe could help with the investigation.
“The person was seen walking along South Street near McCombe Avenue about 9.50pm and was later seen walking on South Street in the vicinity of the furniture store about 10.15pm,” Police said.
“The person was later seen walking on South Street in White Gum Valley.”
Police and emergency services arrived at the building at about 10.30pm on Thursday, September 23, four years ago.
The damage caused was estimated to be $500,000 in 2021.
“The cause of the fire has been deemed suspicious,” police said.
Investigators are asking people with information to contact crime stoppers on 1800 333 000.
