Early voting numbers show decline as 14 per cent of Geraldton population visited pre-poll over first four days

Voters in Geraldton have continued the trend of having their voices heard before the State election, but less people are voting early compared to data from 2021.
As of Thursday evening, 4680 people had cast their votes, more than 14 per cent of the enrolled population voting early, with an average of 1170 people voting every day.
If the trend continues, the figure will fall just short of 2021’s early voting numbers, where 12,064 people opted to vote early.
The electorate of Geraldton has grown since the last time voters hit the polls, with the shires of Northampton and Chapman Valley falling under its boundaries.

The inclusion had led to an increase in total enrolments from 26,767 in 2021 to 32,988 in 2025.
Meanwhile, Mid-West residents have also taken to the early polls, with 528 people voting early in Carnarvon.
The figure represents about two per cent of the enrolled population in the electorate taking the opportunity to vote early.
Nationals leader Shane Love recently told the Geraldton Guardian he believed another early polling venue should be in the Mid-West electorate, given most voters in the region lived south of Geraldton.
In 2021, across the Moore and North West Central electorates, which this year had been combined in part to form the new Mid-West electorate, had a total of 6956 early voters.
Across both former electorates, 19 per cent of the combined enrolled population voted early at the last election.
