GRAMS Easter Eggstravaganza a big hit, with kids flocking to Stow Gardens for egg hunts and face painting

Geraldton is hopping into the Easter spirit this week with egg hunts, egg-and-spoon races, lots and lots of chocolate and even a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny On Tuesday, the Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service held an Easter Eggstravaganza at Stow Gardens, a free event for the community to attend and enjoy some school holiday Easter fun. Boasting basket-making, sack racing and even a giant inflatable ear canal, GRAMS threw an Easter event full of colour, good food and happy painted faces. Gwen Rakabula, a cultural lead from GRAMS, said she was very happy with how the day turned out. “It’s been amazing. All the kids are so happy and so many people have turned up. It’s great to see them all have such a good time,” she said. “This was a completely free event so we had lots of help from NDIS, Social and Emotional Wellbeing Support and Mums and Bubs GRAMS group. “We all got together together for the school holiday program and, yeah, the kids are just having a lot of fun.” It proved to be a successful event which got the kids even more excited about Easter, with only a handful of sleeps to go until the Easter Bunny officially arrives in Geraldton.
