A prime retail site in the centre of Waroona is up for sale for more than $1 million, having been empty for months since National Australia Bank left town last November.

The closure of the NAB branch was a serious blow to the community last year, with the residents only recently getting a permanent ATM in a new town location in June.

The 9,800sqm property along four lots off South Western Highway was put on the market by Colliers Real Estate in June and is still for sale.

The agent describes the site as an “outstanding development opportunity”.

The property contains the old NAB branch and two additional properties, filling the block cornering the South Western Highway, Thatcher Street and Hesse Street.

Listing agent Aidan Austen said he was expecting offers from $1.1 million.

He said the property was now on an offers-invited campaign.

“It’s a great and large location in the centre of the Town of Waroona, which will continue to grow as a town and ultimately the future use of the land will service the communities’ needs into the future,” he said.
