Disaster relief after cyclones

After starting 2018 off wet with floods and cyclones, the East Pilbara will receive much needed disaster assistance funding.

The joint-funded Commonwealth-State Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements were made available to Kimberley and Pilbara residents this month after the area was hit with heavy rainfall and wind after two cyclones in the region.

Local residents and business owners are able to apply for funding for hardship and distress assistance for affected businesses, individuals and families, financial support for affected local governments and State agencies to help with the removal of debris, demolition and rebuilding, counter disaster operations, and the costs of cleaning up and restoring public assets.
