Pirates to face Brewers in grand final
Port Hedland baseballers exhibited sweat and hard-fought determination as the finals fever took hold on Friday night, with A-reserve Swans and Pirates going all seven innings.
Pirates took down Swans in the last dig 18-16, winning the right to face Brewers in the grand final.
The A-grade preliminary played on the following night saw Pirates continue their winning form convincingly, launching two home runs over the fence and taking the win by mercy rule 12-2 against Brewers.
Pirates will now face Swans in a three-game series to determine the season’s overall victors.
The first of the three matches will be played tonight 13on Friday and the second is scheduled for Saturday night. In A-reserve, Brewers and Pirates will clash on Friday night. Visit the Port Hedland Baseball Association Inc Facebook page.
