Staff reportersNorth West Telegraph

A fresh face will lead the Shire of East Pilbara from March.

Following the departure of long-serving chief executive Allen Cooper, the Shire has today announced his replacement will be Jeremy Edwards.

Mr Edwards will leave his role as the chief executive at the Shire of Gingin to take up the position in the Pilbara.

Shire of East Pilbara president Lynne Craigie said they were excited to welcome Mr Edwards.

“(We) greatly look forward to working together for the benefit of the East Pilbara and the residents we serve," she said.

"On behalf of the Shire and my fellow councillors, we wish Mr Edwards and his wife Amanda the very best as they prepare to join us in the heart of the Pilbara.”

Mr Edwards has almost 30 years of experience working in Local Government including the City of Bayswater, the City of Swan and the City of Joondalup.
