Spotlight on effects of change

A former Newman resident is exploring how one moment can change everything as she manages Melville Theatre’s latest play in Perth.

Michelle Sharp will be the assistant manager of Diana Son and Vanessa Jensen’s Stop Kiss, a poignant and funny play about the ways, both sudden and slow, that lives can change irrevocably.

With a lifelong love of theatre, Sharp said she had some major challenges ahead of her as she was also acting in the play as a nurse.

“The challenge is keeping the transitions smooth between doing what we need to do backstage with costume and set changes and then switching to be ready to go onstage in character,” she said.

“A big drawcard with this show is I get to act and be part of the crew, so it’s the best of both worlds.”
