Youngsters’ spirits soar at kite lesson

Hedland kids had the opportunity to create, colour, test and fly their own kites at JD Hardie Youth Zone last week.

The two-hour workshops, organised by EPIC and Port Hedland Universal Science Engagement, included a brief lesson on the rules of aerodynamics and a tutorial on how to construct a kite from scratch.

Children enjoyed putting their artistic skills to the test, personalising their own kites with designs suitably fitting the Australia Day theme.
