NSW Police investigate Wiley Park Toyota Corolla crash into house

A man has died and another has been arrested after a car crashed into a house in southwestern Sydney early on Monday morning.

Emergency services rushed to Cornelia St in Wiley Park just before 12.30am after reports a car had crashed into a house, NSW Police said.

Investigators believe a Toyota Corolla left the roadway and went through a fence before crashing into the front of a house.

“A man, who was outside the house at the time, was allegedly struck by the car,” the police said.

“Despite the efforts of first responders, he could not be revived and died at the scene.

“The man is yet to be formally identified. However, he is believed to be aged in his 20s.”

The driver of the Corolla, a 24-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for mandatory testing, police said.

The police have charged him with negligent driving occasioning death.

He has been refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Monday.
