Alliance dance performance shines

The costumes and shoes sparkled and spun when Alliance Dance Company hosted their 15th annual concert on the weekend at Wanangkura Stadium.

More than 120 dancers, aged between two-and-a-half and 37 years, took to the stage over the two nights.

The show included jazz, tap, classical ballet, hip hop and contemporary dance.

Participants had been rehearsing all year for the concert, with full stage rehearsals in costumes being held for the past four weeks.

Audiences were treated to an entertaining variety show, with lots of modern music, flashy costumes and impressive lighting effects.

Standout acts were of the contemporary dance variety, which were very lyrical and scene-based, and developed in collaboration with Alliance Dance Company principal Noeleen McCann.

ADC administrator Teriena Ytting said the concert was a great way to reflect on the years Ms McCann had invested in the studio.
