Hedland residents packed out the first West End Markets of the year as they shopped for arts and crafts and feasted on a range of delicious snacks.

Held in the afternoon and evening hours, thousands of people poured through the special craft edition of the popular markets, which featured leather makers, artists, jewellers, human and pet health products, face painting for children, and many more stallholders.

The markets also featured a boutique beer stall, selling brands ranging from Little Creatures to Bootleg Brewery.

Beer lovers and families then relaxed on the West End lawns and listened to an entertaining line-up of local musicians.

Resident Sarah Ziegelaar attended her first West End Markets and was blown away by the excitement and big crowds.

“I loved getting my first Henna tattoo,” she said.

“I’ve also grown up in Hedland and it is great to see that so many locals run small home-made businesses next to their day jobs.

“It adds to the fun of local life and some of their homemade crafts and products are such great ideas.”
