,August promises fishing, fun, music and more
Port Hedland will be buzzing with activity next month with a line-up of exciting events set for the North West Fringe.
People of all ages will find something to enjoy with activities ranging from a family fishing day to a burlesque night.
The North West Skate Fest is opening festivities on August 11-13 at South Hedland Youth Space.
There will be coaching workshops from the founder of Freestyle Now, Shaun Jarvis, and current top-5 world-ranked scooter champion Ben Thomas.
From noon on Saturday, August 20, at North West Festival, the team at Ibis will host the first-ever Spring Into Cider.
Sugar Blue Burlesque will be performing at Matt Dann Theatre and Cinema on Thursday, August 18.
Their show present classic burlesque reminiscent of the 1920s through to the1960s with vintage costumes, circus, comedy and music.
Other activities include the Family Fishing Fun Day, free fitness classes for festival ticket holders at Wanangkura Stadium, a West End Movies special screening of Prince’s Purple Rain and free yoga session before Sunday’s Sundowner.
The events will coincide with this year’s North West Festival on August 19-21. Headliners will include The Veronicas, You Am I, The Rubens and Sarah Blasko.
You Am I’s frontman Tim Rogers, along with Jae-Laffer, will be playing a laid back set at the Sunday Sundowner on August 21.
