Known for his talent on the stage and as a theatrical arts manager, Brad Holder can add successful entrepreneur to the list after securing a lease for his audio and lighting business in Wedgefield last week.

Nine years after founding PCC Productions from his home as an ambitions teenager, Mr Holder said moving the business to a commercial space was an exciting new milestone for PCC Productions.

“I started doing lighting and sound when I was in high school…and then I started working at the theatre doing production for events and festivals,” he said.

“What I found through my work and my own music was the fact there weren’t many bands touring through Hedland…and I learned it was because there was nowhere in town to hire equipment.

“So I wanted to bridge the gap between the capitol city and Pilbara music scenes by building up an inventory of equipment for bands to hire when they were touring.

“From there it morphed into something which has grown organically to the point where I needed to expand into a commercial space.”

Mr Holder said the warehouse was not only an equipment storage facility but also a network hub for local artists.

“The idea is we are here for local musicians, we’re not just here for the touring guys coming through,” he said.

“I would love to see more gigs around town and local bands supporting the bigger acts that tour in Hedland to get that exposure they need.

“In the future I will be setting up a recording studio in the warehouse as well, where local bands can have a space to network and put down some tracks.”

Mr Holder thanked Eliza Mearns from Crawford Realty for helping PCC productions secure their lease at 5/37 Pinnacles Street, Wedgefield.
