Death on carrier investigated
The Port Hedland police inquiry team is investigating the death of a man on an iron ore carrier overnight on Sunday.
The man, believed to be the captain of the ship, reportedly died when the ship was at anchor waiting to come in to the Port in Hedland. Port Hedland Sergeant Jayd Morawski said officers were flown by helicopter to the ship on Monday morning.
It is not known what the nationality of the man was or what caused his death.
