Port Hedland Speedway Club hosted its club points round at the weekend, with diehard speedway fans out in force for a big night at the track.

Steven Peaker, 8, entertained guests on the microphone on Saturday night, providing a detailed run-down of the drivers and races as he watched from the control tower.

Steven, who has been attending speedway meets since he was a baby, said he was excited to have a go at commentating the event.

“I like it a lot, it’s really fun,” he said.

The next meet will be the four-day long Sprintcar Stampede at the Port Hedland Speedway Club this Thursday and Friday night and the Nickol Bay Speedway Club on Saturday and Sunday night.
