Sea Soaring Marine’s Wayne Baddock has returned to Port Hedland to help Hedlanders in their marine adventures.

The passionate boatie and qualified coxswain skipper has been bringing his mobile business to town every year since 2008

Mr Baddock said this year he’d chosen to stay seven weeks rather than two, because of his love for the North West.

“We just love meeting country people, it’s really fun up here,” he said.

“It’s the people that keep me coming back each year. It doesn’t have the chaos of cities and tourist towns like Broome.

“We used to only do two weeks and this time we’re here seven so we can actually take our time with our work and to also see the area.”

Here until May 17, Mr Baddock conducts recreational skipper’s ticket courses, marine radio courses and boat license transfers.

Full training and assessment courses include emergency scenarios, local navigation information and hands-on interaction with safety equipment such as flares, EPIRBs, radios and lifejackets.

Mr Baddock said the key to his courses was the use of visual aids and his small group numbers.
