Great bloke will be missed
Sharrack ‘Sharky’ Tullock has been described as “community statesman” of South Hedland by his brother, Warwick.
Sharrack’s untimely passing occurred on June 6 at the age of just 31 – with a huge outpouring of grief from friends and family in the local community.
Football played a huge part in Sharrack’s life. He was heavily involved with the South Hedland Swans club – and an avid Fremantle Dockers fan.
“He was a great bloke, who was a real role model for all of his family,” said Warwick.
“Footy was his life, apart from his family.
"He was a really dedicated club member.
"He coached the Swans’ reserves last year, played for them, and was also on the committee last year.
"We both were big Dockers fans and he went to watch them as often as he could.
"He was really excited when he went to this year’s Anzac Day game between Essendon and Collingwood at the MCG.”
Sharrack’s early life was split between Meekatharra and Hedland.
He was born in the Pilbara but returned to his mother’s hometown during his childhood then spending his adult life in Hedland.
Most recently, he was an employee of Fortescue Metals Group.
“He was a popular bloke – and a great dad to his two kids Ricardo (3) and Fiona (9).
He was a real community statesman, who stood up for what he believed in.
The Tullock, Councillor and Curley family, from Meekatharra, will miss him greatly.”
Sharrack’s nickname, ‘Sharky’, actually came from Warwick’s inability to pronounce his first name while they were kids.
“He’s two years older than me, but was a great big brother and always looked out for me. He travelled the Mid West and Pilbara extensively and was a popular bloke.”
Sharrack’s funeral will take place in Meekatharra on Saturday, June 25.
