Hedland police wait on test
Police will wait on lab results before laying further charges against a man who allegedly tried to bring synthetic cannabis through Port Hedland post office.
The 46-year-old was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and a controlled weapon last week after police were alerted to suspicious packages at the post office.
Port Hedland police Sergeant Jason Gentili said the parcels contained more than an ounce of Super-K2 (T33) and another unidentified substance.
He said further charges could be laid once a test was carried out on the material.
Sgt Gentili warned against buying synthetic cannabis or “incense” over the internet.
“Just because the website says it’s legal doesn’t mean it is,” he said.
Police also cautioned people about purchasing laser pointers, which led to the man’s controlled weapon charge.
