Hedland Senior High School farewells the class of 2012
Hedland Senior High School’s Class of 2012 was farewelled last week.
The group of 78 leavers attended a formal assembly on Wednesday with parents, staff and fellow students, and took the opportunity to dress up for a less formal farewell that evening at Wanangkura Stadium’s Jimblebar Room.
Principal John Burke said the assembly was a chance to acknowledge the contribution the group had made to the school over the past five years.
“This group of young people should be commended for their maturity and cohesiveness, they have made a significant contribution to the fabric of Hedland Senior High School,” he said.
Mr Burke said parents and teachers should be proud of the students for completing their schooling journey.
“All teachers who have taught these students at some point from kindergarten to Year 12 can be contented that they have contributed to the success of these young people,” he said.
“In particular Year 12 co-ordinator Sarah Patterson and Senior School co-ordinator Tammara Olds who have encouraged, supported and provided direction for this terrific group of young people.”
The graduating group will attend a formal Year 12 presentation and awards evening next month.
