New name, new look for South Hedland shops

The facade for the new South Hedland Shopping Centre is complete and comes with a new name to match.

Charter Hall last week announced the centre's new name, which will be South Hedland Square.

Head of Charter Hall's property management John Marcou said the company was very excited to be introducing the new name, and that it was welcoming new retailers to South Hedland Square.

"We believe people should feel at home from the moment they walk through our centre doors," he said.

"Our new name and the recent development works are in line with Charter Hall's commitment to investing in the centre, our retailers and the local community, and importantly to continuing to provide an enjoyable and dynamic meeting place for South Hedland."

Charter Hall also made the announcement last week that four new retailers would set up business in the Square as part of the first stage opening of the centre's $15 million redevelopment.

Donut King has set up shop already, while the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westpac Bank and Northwest Massage are said to be planning to open up in the coming weeks.
