More than 350 revellers from around Hedland donned their best traditional German dress and grabbed their steins as a beer-drinking frenzy took hold of the Pier Hotel for Oktoberfest celebrations last month.

Patrons were treated to three German beers on tap, traditional food, a best dressed competition and electronic music from local DJ’s Lukas Wimmler, Damian John and Lace’ Em Tight.

Pier Hotel spokeswoman Caryn Angland said the event was a yearly highlight on the Pier social calendar and a good opportunity for patrons to dress up.

“It was another very successful night,” she said.

“It was nice to see the punters and staff get involved, we saw some wonderful costumes on Saturday night.

“We look forward to seeing everyone dressed up for Halloween.”
