Perth exposure for Roebourne artist

KRISTY MUGRIDGENorth West Telegraph

Roebourne artist Clifton Mack will have his award-winning artwork shown in Perth as part of the 2012 Artitude by Audi exhibition in Perth.

Mack’s work has been chosen, along with 14 other artists from Yinjaa-Barni Art, to be represented at this year’s exhibition.

Artitude is the premier fundraising event held by Telethon Speech and Hearing, at which representing galleries donate part of their sales towards telethon’s early intervention programs.

Mack’s art represents the surrounding country, its stories, bush tools and native flora and fauna. The piece which will be shown in Perth is part of Mack’s Lighthouse Series, which depicts the Jarman Island Lighthouse.

Jarman Island is located off the coast from Cossack, a place Mack said he enjoyed painting.

Telethon Speech and Hearing hopes to raise more than $250,000 through the event.
