Hedland Police are seeking the assistance of the public to identify a possible person of interest regarding a trespass and criminal damage incident last month.

A man, on the right in a checked shirt in the picture, is wanted for questioning over the incident at the Esplanade Hotel in Port Hedland on Sunday, May 18.

It is alleged a man matching his description scaled a pillar onto the first floor balcony of the hotel before being involved in a conversation with staff on the balcony about 12.25am.

The man allegedly threw a chair off the balcony, destroying it, before running through the building and down the stairs to the street.

The person to the left in the picture was not involved in the incident but police believe he can help identify the person of interest.

Anyone with information can contact Port Hedland Police Station on 9173 8100.
