Potbelleez’s pizzazz on The Pier
The Potbelleez’s vocalist Blue MC is confident the electro-house group will raise the roof at The Pier on Friday night.
The electro-house sensations are in town for one night only, and are riding high on the crest of their second album, Destination Now, which has spawned a number of hit tracks such as Hello and Drop the Music.
Blue predicts the group’s Port Hedland gig will be memorable for fans.
“We love doing regional tours, because it’s just so much better received and appreciated by people,” she said.
“There’s a different vibe, it’s great for us to make fans in different parts of Australia – that’s how the music scene works here.
“There will be lots of energy, we’ll be playing songs off both albums but we’ll also be going deeper playing more underground tunes and throwing in a couple of phat remixes.”
The Potbelleez are flat-out touring the country, and have earned rave reviews overseas when they rocked Ireland’s Electric Picnic, and Ibiza’s premier nightspot Amnesia.
Blue said the band’s Balearic adventure was “unforgettable”.
“We’ve been pretty busy touring across Australia since the album was released in July, but we also played the Electric Picnic and Amnesia,” she said.
“We were supporting Robyn – it was such an honour – for MTV, it was such a great opportunity for us.”
Blue said the band enjoyed its regional tours as it afforded the foursome a chance to interact with fans.
“It’s always been the way, you need to get and tour the little towns and make contacts with people,” she said.
“It’s fun to come and make the party for everyone and give them something to talk about.”
Pre-sale tickets cost $40, while a limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
