RAAF fly in to check teeth

Remote community residents living near Hedland can get their teeth checked for free this month thanks to a visit by Royal Australian Air Force dentists.

The RAAF tooth doctors have set up two clinics that will run until August 25.

One is at South Hedland’s Wirraka Maya Health Service and the other at Roebourne’s Marwarnkarra Health Service. Visiting as part of Exercise Kummundoo 2016, the RAAF staff planned the trip with the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, exercise officer- in-charge Squadron Leader Khai Nguyen said.

“In this remote part of Australia … we are thrilled to be able to offer our services as a part of such a great Air Force initiative that is committed to improving the health of our fellow indigenous Australians,” he said.
