The Town of Port Hedland is calling for community not-for-profit groups which pay rates to apply for rates concessions for the next financial year.

Mayor Camilo Blanco said community groups and not-for-profit groups were eligible to apply for 50 per cent or 100 per cent concessions on their annual rates payments.

“In the 2016/17 financial year, council endorsed rates concessions for 28 community groups and not-for-profits totalling $167,000,” he said.

Concessions are available to community groups or organisations that operate as a body corporate or an incorporated association.

Applications close on Friday, March 31 and can be sent to council@porthedland.wa.gov.au or via mail to PO Box 41, Port Hedland, WA, 6721.
