Residents urged to Fight the Bite
Fight the Bite is the slogan being pushed by the Shires of East Pilbara and Ashburton, which have teamed up to remind residents of the threat of mosquito-borne viruses.
It’s part of a new health campaign to stop the spread of the diseases and the two shires are reminding people to cover up, repel and clean up to prevent being bitten by mosquitoes.
Shire of East Pilbara president Lynne Craigie said the organisation was pleased to be working with the Shire of Ashburton.
“Mosquito-borne disease is a serious matter, ” she said. “It is important that residents, travellers and campers enjoying our beautiful Pilbara outback the appropriate steps outlined in the Fight the Bite Campaign.”
