The biggest weekend of the year for Australia’s hottest town is just around the corner, and tickets are selling fast for one of its main events according to organisers.

Celebrations begin at the 2016 Marble Bar Race Ball on July 1, where visitors, station workers and locals will don their best outfits before heading to the Marble Bar race track the next day, followed by the inaugural Marble Bar Raging Roughstock Rodeo.

With tickets selling out in previous years, and this year’s ball billed to be the biggest and best yet, organiser Pip Short was adamant tickets should be bought quickly.

“Guests at this year’s Rio de Janeiro-inspired gala ball will be treated to a three-course meal, where we are proud to be serving Outback Beef from Yarrie Station which will be a real treat for ball-goers,” she said.

“Revellers can also look forward to an evening of entertainment from MC Matt Goyder and Perth-based band Broken Tide, so make sure you bring your dancing shoes for a night of Brazilian Reggae and country rock.”

Ms Short said for the first time there would also be a free face painter at the ball to get everyone feeling in theme.

“However I must stress this is a formal black-tie ball, not a dress up party, so think dresses and suits with a hint of sparkle … sequins, feathers, flowers and fruit bowls,” she said.

“Tickets are selling fast and may not be available on the door this year so make sure you jump onto the website or Facebook page to book your tickets.”
