Anyone who has ever been involved in the Port Hedland Softball Association is invited to celebrate its 40th anniversary with a special dinner early next month.

The milestone will be marked at The Walkabout Hotel Motel on Saturday, September 5, from 6.30pm to midnight.

Association spokeswoman Ashlee Groch said the night would include entertainment and attendees would receive a commemorative gift while the presentation of the 2015 season awards and announcement of the representative team for this year’s North West Softball Championships would also take place.

She said the association would like to thank The Walkabout for its sponsorship of the event.

“The evening will be a great opportunity for past and present players to connect over a shared love of the sport and celebrate a well-established sport within the Port Hedland community, ” she said.

“With our grand finals to be held the following weekend, Saturday, September 12, this event will give us a chance to celebrate all clubs, members and volunteers of the association.” Groch said the association would like to confirm numbers by this Saturday, August 22.

Those interested in attending should purchase a ticket from Port Hedland Softball Association president Ashliegh Christensen on 0400 303 843.
