The usual weather pattern returned last Sunday morning, with strong 15-20-knot crosswinds, making the metallic silhouette targets hard very difficult to hit at the Hedland Sporting Shooters Club.

Competitors in the Rimfire Metallic Silhouette, had good scores considering the conditions.

Nesbit Anderson was the eventual winner, scoring 10 out of a possible 40 hits.

Second place went to Jemal Blattner with 9, by a countback to Andy Balodis in third.

Terry Horne had a personal best of 7 hits.

Competition then moved to the 500m range for the remaining three classes.

Rimfire Pistol was contested by four competitors, with Peter Nicholls claiming the win with a score of 5 and shooting out to a distance of 100m with the .22lr pistol.

Centerfire Pistol class was won by Chris Lefroy with a score of 8.

Reid Davies was lucky to compete, as he arrived at the range without his pistol, requiring a quick trip home to collect the firearm.

Centerfire Rifle Class was the final competition of the day.

Lefroy was the winner again, showing the rest of the competitors how to handle the windy conditions, scoring 10 out of a possible 40 on the 500m range.

Anderson finished second, with Reid Davies in third place.
