A taekwondo instructor accused of a shocking triple murder in Sydney’s west and his legal team are considering “expert evidence” as he weighs up a plea, a court has been told.

Kwang Kyung Yoo, 50, was earlier this year charged with the murders of Min Cho, 41, and a seven-year-old child at North Parramatta as well as Ms Cho’s husband, Steven Cho, 39, at a Baulkham Hills unit block.

The North Kellyville man has been in custody bail refused since he was arrested in hospital in February and is yet to enter a plea.

The court was told that a case conference between the prosecution and his defence was held earlier this month.

A case conference is to help determine an accused person’s plea and to identify any disputed facts.

Mr Yoo’s solicitor Gaston Gration told the court that both parties were seeking the matter to be adjourned until December for “further consideration”.

The court was also told that Mr Yoo’s defence was “considering expert evidence”.

Police allege Ms Cho and the child were in February murdered inside a taekwondo studio where the boy was a student.

It is alleged that Mr Yoo, who was known to his students as Master Lion, left the bodies inside the studio before driving Ms Cho’s white BMW to her Baulkham Hills house, where Mr Cho was stabbed several times.

NSW Police found Mr Cho’s body at the Watkins Rd, Baulkham Hills home before the bodies of his wife and the child were discovered by police two hours later.

Police allege Mr Yoo drove to Westmead Hospital with stab wounds to his chest, arms and stomach and claimed he was randomly attacked in a supermarket carpark.

Police allege he sustained the injuries while stabbing Mr Cho to death.

The matter will return to court on December 12.
