Health authorities have revealed a truck driver from NSW visited Queensland while infected with Covid-19, leading to urgent contact tracing alerts along the border.

Exposure sites have emerged at Archerfield and Goondiwindi with the driver infectious in the community for a full day.

“The truck driver entered Queensland on August 25 and returned to New South Wales on August 26,” the Queensland Health alert said.

“Please contact New South Wales health authorities for specific information relating to this case.”

Authorities have issued close contact alerts for a BP Service Station in Archerfield and the amenities and dining section of a BP Truckstop in Goondiwindi.

NED-3869-Covid-19-Exposure-Sites-QldThe threat comes after two truck drivers were announced as being infectious in the Queensland community last week, but those cases were both reclassified after negative results were returned.

Anyone who visited the following sites at the allocated times were told to contact Queensland Health and isolate for 14-days regardless of a test result.

Those who visited a casual contact exposure site were ordered to get tested immediately and isolate until a negative result is returned.

Close contact sites:

Archerfield, BP Service Station (indoor areas), corner of Randolph and Boundary road, Archerfield, Thursday August 26, 10am – 10.40am

Bundamba, Puma Service Station (food court), corner of Ashburn Rd and Hawkins Crescent, Bundamba, Thursday August 26, 1.20pm – 2.25pm

Goondiwindi, BP Truckstop at the BP Service Station, 11/11 Cunningham Highway, Goondiwindi, 5.30pm – 6.30pm

Casual contact sites:

Archerfield, BP Service Station (outdoors including truck parking area), corner of Randolph and Boundary road, Archerfield, Thursday August 26, 8.50am – 11.10am

Bundamba, Puma Service Centre Station (Excluding foodcourt), corner of Ashburn Rd and Hawkins Crescent, Bundamba, Thursday August 26, 1.20pm – 2.25pm.
