Credit card probe closed
The Department of Local Government and Communities has closed its assessment into the alleged misuse of a corporate credit card by the Town of Port Hedland's chief executive, clearing him of any wrongdoing.
Earlier this year the department received a complaint alleging the council's chief executive had been claiming personal reimbursements for work-related expenses paid for on his corporate credit card.
The department found while there were procedural issues relating to the Town's processes, no evidence of wrongdoing by any individual was found.
Town of Port Hedland Mayor Kelly Howlett said she was pleased the case was closed.
