Port Hedland local Nikki Majewski, 25, took out the Statewide UGLY bartender of the year award for the Pier Hotel after a fundraising effort for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Ms Majewski's beat the other competitors by raising $14,962, which is the second time a bartender at the Pier has triumphed after Lauren Shannon won the title in 2012.

"I want to thank Lauren for passing the buck on to me, so to speak," she said.

"It's been really fun, I want to thank all the staff here, Lynne (hotel owner) for letting us do it again and win again.

"To everyone that donated … I've really appreciated your donations this year.

"Thank you to the Pier, I just love every single one of you, even if you only put in $1.50."

UGLY bartender of the year campaign manager Holly Williams flew from Perth to help present the award to Ms Majewski and said over 161 bartenders from across the State participated in the fundraiser.

"We've reached an amazing goal," she said.

"We're on $158,000 and we'll probably tip over $160,000 (in the end), so as a State we should be really proud.

Ms Williams said the campaign helped raise money for families travelling from regional areas such as Port Hedland to Perth, seeking treatment for leukaemia.

"Every $80 ensures that the family has a place to stay for the night," she said.

"(Nikki) managed to raise enough for about six and a half months of accommodation for a family."

For winning the competition Ms Majewski received a South Pacific cruise, including flights, meals and entertainment, and a $7500 fully installed ice machine for the Pier Hotel.
