Police have found a 42-year-old man “safe and well” after he failed to return home after leaving a Pilbara mine site.

The man left the Eliwana Mine, in Hamersley Range, in his Toyota Landcruiser around 11am on Tuesday

Police said he failed to return to his Tom Price home — around 90km east of the mine.

There were urgent concerns for his welfare before police confirmed he had been found “safe and well” on Wednesday.

It is understood the man was camping.
