More rain is set to pour down on Perth in the coming days before a thunderstorm is forecast to hit the city later this week.

It seems the weekend sunshine was short-lived with the metro area experiencing showers on Monday and the forecast revealing a week of wet conditions.

The Bureau of Meteorology’s Christie Johnson said locals can expect a wet morning on Tuesday.

“In Perth, there might be a morning shower or two, and then a mostly dry afternoon, top of 22 degrees,” Ms Johnson said.

On Wednesday there is a very high chance Perth will experience rain in the afternoon and even a thunderstorm.

The chance of rain is also forecast for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

It’s a mixed bag for the rest of the State, with the south set for cool temperatures and areas in the north set for warmer days with rain and thunderstorms.

“A few showers about the South West and southern coasts, clearing during the day, but remaining cloudy and cool through the South West Land Division,” Ms Johnson said.

“Warmer and sunnier, though the north and east, with high fire dangers through the southern interior and also parts of the Pilbara coast.

“And through the north, the build-up continues with warm and humid conditions. Some showers and thunderstorms, particularly about the western top end and the northern Kimberley.”

PERTH’S FORECAST:

Wednesday: 22C, showers and chance of thunderstorm

Thursday: 21C, showers

Friday: 23C, slight chance of shower

Saturday: 23C, showers
