WA’s north is set to be drenched by rainfall as a storm is likely to smash the Pilbara and Kimberley regions.

Despite scorching hot temperatures in places like Marble Bar, where it is expected to reach 46C on Wednesday, the possibility of a severe thunderstorm looms.

According to BoM, Kununurra is likely to be hit by the storm late on Tuesday before the brunt of it makes landfall on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Wyndham will reach a top of 39C on Wednesday despite a possibility of up to 7mm of rain.

Halls Creek could get 3mm and reach a top of 40C.

Meanwhile back in Perth, the mercury will reach 41C on Wednesday with an unlikely chance of rain.

Over the next six days, the metro maximum will hover around an average of 35C.
