Giddey injured as Chicago Bulls win by one
Australia's Josh Giddey has hobbled off with an ankle injury before helping the visiting Chicago Bulls to a one-point NBA win over the Toronto Raptors.
Giddey had 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists before hurting his right ankle in the third quarter on Monday.
To add insult to injury he was charged with a foul after sliding into Gradey Dick, who was attempting a three-pointer.
Nikola Vucevic scored 24 points for the Bulls in the 122-121 win.
Coby White added 19 points, Ayo Dosunmu 12 , Talen Horton-Tucker 15 off the bench while Jalen Smith and Julian Phillips each had 10.
RJ Barrett scored 19 of his 32 points in the first half for the Raptors, who have lost five straight.
Dick scored 27, Ochai Agbaji added 15, Chris Boucher chipped in with 11 points and 10 rebounds and Jamal Shead finished with 10 points.
In Detroit, Tim Hardaway hit nine points in overtime to help the Pistons end the Miami Heat's four-game winning streak with a 125-124 victory.
Cade Cunningham had 20 points, a career-high 18 assists and 11 rebounds for the Pistons, his sixth triple-double of the season.
Jimmy Butler had 35 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists for Miami.
Malik Beasley led the Pistons with 28 points and went seven of 13 on three-pointers.
In New York, Evan Mobley scored 21 points and Caris LeVert added 19 as the Cleveland Cavaliers rolled to a 130-101 win over the Brooklyn Nets.
Donovan Mitchell had 18 points and five assists, and Georges Niang had 17 points and nine rebounds for Cleveland.
Cameron Johnson led Brooklyn with 22 points and five assists, and Day'Ron Sharpe had 15 points and seven rebounds.
The loss was the third straight for the Nets and their sixth in seven games.
Also impressive were the Philadelphia 76ers who overcame injury issues to beat the Charlotte Hornets 121-108.
Tyrese Maxey pumped in 40 points and Paul George racked up 33 for the Sixers, in their fifth win in seven games.
The outcome dampened the excitement around the return to action of Charlotte point guard LaMelo Ball, who managed 15 points and 11 assists.
Ball had missed the previous seven games with injury, with the Hornets slumping to a 1-6 record over the stretch.
In his last four games he scored 35, 50, 44, and 32 points.
